Polyurethane Foam Roofing

Polyurethane foam roofing

Polyurethane foam roofing will lower your air conditioning costs immediately. The white coating bounces away all but 15% of the sun’s heat provides (85% reflectivity). This means that heat which would normally be absorbed by your roof is reflected back into the air instead of being transferred into your building. The coating reflects and the foam insulates. This one-two punch can drop air conditioning costs by a third – immediate savings.

The SPF Foam and Coating System are formulated for our Florida climate. The seamless foam barrier is not one-formula-fits-all states. It’s engineered to stand up to the hot, wet, tropical state we call home. The foam system adds tensile strength to your structure and can take hurricane-force winds. It is an affordable, durable and cost-effective choice for your commercial or industrial building; for schools, churches, and municipal buildings, too.

  • While the energy cost savings are significant, you save money in other ways with polyurethane foam roofing. You avoid the cost of tearing off and replacing your current roof. The foam goes over your existing surface. For the life of the roof you face few or no leak repairs or maintenance costs. For up to 20 years, you may not have the cost of roof replacement.

We use a Conklin® Roof Coating System product, which is ENERGY STAR® rated and LEED certified. We are a factory-authorized installer, manufacturer-trained in applying their superior polyurethane foam roofing. Your roof can pay for itself in four to seven years in air conditioning cost savings alone.

  • You will appreciate the lack of disruption and noise compared with removing and completely replacing a roof. You will have a small crew on your property. You will not have to deal with the smell of “hot tar” or noxious chemicals.

Polyurethane foam roofing installation is far more efficient because we do not have to tear off your old roof. It’s a straightforward process:

  • Your roof is cleaned and prepared to factory specifics
  • An inch or more of foam is sprayed directly onto your current roof to form the base
  • The foam is covered with a special base coat
  • Then the top coat is applied. It dries to a white, seamless, spotless and contemporary look
  • That’s three layers create high-grade insulation that performs well and lasts for years.
  • If you choose, we can give your roof a textured look by adding granules to the top coat

Why polyurethane foam roofing is tailor-made for Florida storms
The layers dry to a “closed cell form”. If, for instance, a branch fell in a storm and breached the coating, the surrounding cells are closed. This localizes the damage. Water is stopped before it seeps all the way through. Plus, a repair coating can be applied in just those spots. The seamless look is refurbished and the leak resistance restored.

Even in our summer rains, polyurethane foam roofing is virtually leak-proof, because there are no fasteners and no seams. It does not require flashings around HVAC, vents and walls. The foam and coating are self-flashing. The system can last two decades, and comes with a ten to twelve year warranty. You have met your goal if it is to defer roof replacement or to make the best choice for new construction.
